A Co Mayo man who is accused of murdering his mother was scheduled to appear before Judge Conal Gibbons at Castlebar District Court yesterday but did not do so due to “medical reasons”.

Séamus Marrinan (29) from Blackfort, Castlebar, who is charged with the murder of Carmel Marrinan (61) at the family home in the early hours of July 7th, was admitted to the Central Mental Hospital in Dublin following his arrest last month.

At Castlebar District Court yesterday the judge was told that the accused was not in court for medical reasons.
