Paul McGinley took firm control of the Irish PGA Championship title at Adare Manor today, carding a third round 69 to move five shots clear of the field.
The defending champion leads Gary Murphy by five strokes after the Kilkenny man carded a 73, enjoying just one birdie on the day.
McGinley opened his round with four birdies in the opening six holes.
Third place is occupied by Michael Hoey on two under while Brendan McGovern is in fourth after a 72. David Higgins is in fifth after carding a disappointing 76
