London - Divorcees could be allowed to be remarried in church under proposals being considered by the Church of England. The church's House of Bishops working party is looking at ways to relax its rules on marriage so that divorcees whose marriage breakdown was not their fault can seek permission to remarry in church.

But "nothing is going to change for the foreseeable future", a Church of England spokesman said.
