Manx2.com is to withdraw its Belfast to Cork service from next month.
In a statement this evening, the company said the service was being discontinued in the wake of the tragic incident at Cork airport earlier this month in which six people lost their lives.
The service will end on Sunday, March 13th. All passengers booked to travel on the service on or after March 14th will be given a full refund.
All other flights including from Belfast to Blackpool, Isle of Man and Anglesey will continue as scheduled.
Six people – the captain, his co-pilot and four passengers – were killed when a Manx2 flight from Belfast crashed when landing at the airport on February 10th.
The six other passengers were injured when the aircraft overturned and caught fire in a third attempt by the pilots to land in foggy conditions.
A preliminary report into the accident should be completed next month. The full investigation could take up to two years depending on its complexity.
