An Irish man who murdered his estranged wife and her mother in Manchester, before taking his own life, was wanted by Dundalk gardai in connection with a burglary this month.

Christopher Pomeroy (24) was living in Dundalk on July 2nd when the Shamrock Bar was robbed and a large amount of cash taken.

At Drogheda District Court last week Peter Pomeroy (27), the dead man's brother, was jailed for three months for his part in the crime. He and his brother had arrived in Dundalk recently.

Last Monday Christopher Pomeroy shot his wife, Joanne, and her mother Diane Pritchard (41) in Mrs Pritchard's home. He then took his own life.
