A major rescue operation has been launched in Co Kerry after a climber was seriously injured in a fall on Carrauntoohil.
The man was ascending the Devil’s Ladder with a female companion this afternoon when he fell. The woman raised the alarm and the Kerry Mountain rescue team is on the way to the scene.
The Coast Guard helicopter has also been called in from Shannon to try to airlift the man to hospital.
