A man charged in connection with a burglary at the home of three elderly siblings has been remanded on bail after his wife paid part of his €10,000 bail bond.

William Gammell (27), An Cuirt, Monard, Co Tipperary, is charged with burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Willie Creed (74) and his sisters Nora (72) and Chrissie (66) were in their house at Ballyluddy, Pallasgreen, Co Limerick, on May 31st, when the burglary occurred. Mr Gammell is also charged with aiding in an aggravated burglary at Sunville House, Pallasgreen on April 16th.

Yesterday, Limerick District Court heard he had yet to take up bail granted by the High Court on July 23rd. His Teresa Gammell then lodged an independent surety of €2,500 at the District Court.
