A Dutch engineer has pleaded guilty to the killing of a 25-year-old woman whose body was found on Christmas Day last year one week after going missing in the city of Bristol.
Vincent Tabak (33) who was a next-door neighbour of Joanna Yeates admitted the manslaughter of the landscape architect today but denied he had murdered her.
The charge states that Tabak "unlawfully killed" the 25-year-old between December 16th and 19th.
Appearing via videolink from Long Lartin prison, he pleaded not guilty to murder and was remanded in custody by London's Old Bailey court to face trial at Bristol Crown Court on October 4th.
Mr Tabak, who worked in Bath, was arrested after a major police operation.
Ms Yeates was last seen after buying a pizza and two bottles of cider in a supermarket on her way home from a Bristol pub.
Her body was found by the side of a country lane around two miles from her flat, eight days after she disappeared. She had been strangled.
