Man on stolen monkey charge

DUBLIN DISTRICT COURT: A Dublin man has pleaded not guilty to possessing a stolen monkey worth €1,500.

DUBLIN DISTRICT COURT:A Dublin man has pleaded not guilty to possessing a stolen monkey worth €1,500.

Paul Murtagh (28), Birchdale Park, Kinsealy, Co Dublin, and Lighthouse Apartments, East Wall, Dublin, denies possession of “one common South American Marmoset”.

He allegedly had the animal at Ravensdale Road, East Wall, on October 1st last.

Yesterday at Dublin District Court, he entered a not guilty plea to that charge.

Judge Bryan Smyth remanded Mr Murtagh on continuing bail to appear again on January 17th next when his hearing will take place.
