A male pedestrian has been killed in a road crash in Co Sligo.
The man (56) was hit by a truck some five kilometres outside Sligo town shortly before 4.30pm this afternoon.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was later removed to Sligo General Hospital.
The road remains closed pending a forensic scene examination and will remain closed until tomorrow morning

Police in Derry are also appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in which a schoolgirl suffered a fractured skull and a fractured leg.
The incident took place in the Glenelly Villas area of Drapestown on Tuesday evening at about 7.20pm when a silver-coloured van struck the girl.
The seven-year-old remains in hospital where her condition is described as stable and not life threatening.
Police are not treating the incident as a hit and run but wish speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police at Strand Road.
