Geneva - A 19-year-old asylum seeker from Serbia's Kosovo province died yesterday after a policeman opened fire following the theft at
Geneva airport of a briefcase containing thousands of dollars, a police spokesman said.
The incident occurred in an underground car park at the Cointrin international terminal, spokesman Jacques Volery told a news conference. He said the suspect "appeared to take a black object from his waist and point it", and the policeman opened fire.
No weapon was found at the scene. The dead man was not identified.
