A man in his 60s was killed when his car hit a ditch at Castledermot in Co Kildare yesterday evening.
The man's car left the road at Prumplestown on the N9 at 6.20pm. There were no other cars involved.
The body of the man, the 179 thperson killed on the State's roads so far this year, was taken to Naas General Hospital.
Gardai are investigating the cause of the crash.
