Man killed after car strikes ditch but passengers survive impact

A 27-year-old man was killed in a road incident early yesterday morning.

A 27-year-old man was killed in a road incident early yesterday morning.

Enda Watterson from Derrygasson, Emyvale, Co Monaghan, died when his Audi A4 hit a ditch on the outskirts of Emyvale at 6.10am. The four passengers in the car all survived with just minor injuries.

Mr Watterson was taken to Cavan General Hospital but died from his injuries on arrival.

The victim worked in his father’s well-known construction supply company, Wattersons Concrete.
