Man in UK court over sister's party death

The brother of a teenage girl gunned down at a Birmingham New Year party has appeared in court charged with her murder.

The brother of a teenage girl gunned down at a Birmingham New Year party has appeared in court charged with her murder.

Mr Marcus Junior Ellis (23) was charged along with three other men with murdering his sister, Charlene (18), and her friend Letisha Shakespeare (17).

Mr Ellis and Mr Rodrigo Fernando Simms (19), Mr Michael Gregory (21) and Mr Nathan Antonio Martin (24) were arrested last night.

On Thursday they were also charged with the attempted murder of three other people who attended the New Year party. All four were remanded in custody for one week at Birmingham Magistrates' Court.

Charlene and Letisha were shot dead on January 2nd after they left a party at a hairdressing salon in Aston, Birmingham.

Charlene's twin sister, Sophie, and her cousin, Cheryl Shaw, were wounded in the attack.
