A man was injured with what is believed to have been a stun gun during a robbery at a jewellery shop in Cork today.

Two men entered the shop on Oliver Plunkett Street after 3pm and attacked a man working there with what gardai believe was a Taser shock weapon.

They stole jewellery from a window display and also from a cabinet in the shop, before making their escape in a vehicle driven by a third man, a Garda spokesman said.

He said it was believed the jewellery was worth a "substantial amount" of money, although the exact value was not immediately known.
