Gardaí are continuing to question a man in Wicklow in connection with the murder of a man whose body was found on Christmas Eve.
Father-of-three Stephen O’Meara had disappeared on the evening of August 6th from near his home in Wicklow town. He had told his partner he was going to meet someone and that he would be back within an hour. He was never seen alive again.
His remains were found in a wooded area at Ballydonnell near Red Cross in Co Wicklow, about 20km from his home, on Christmas Eve.
The man (46) arrested yesterday is being held at Wicklow Garda station under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
On December 28th, Michael Dickinson (24), of no fixed abode, was charged at a special sitting of Bray District Court with the murder of Mr O’Meara.
