A 29-year-old man is to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court this morning after he was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon by the PSNI’s Serious Crimes Branch last night.

The man was detained in the Antrim area early yesterday in connection with a search of a house at Oakman Street off the Falls Road in west Belfast late last month.

At the time of the search police said a number of items had been taken from the house for forensic examination.

A 29-year-old woman arrested following the search was released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
