THE solicitor representing a 52 year old man facing 265 sex offence charges has asked the court for extra time to consider the book of evidence against his client.

The man is charged with gross indecency, indecent assault and buggery on a number of males on dates unknown between 1971 and 1989 in Co Kilkenny and Co Dublin.

At Balbriggan District Court yesterday Mr Dermot McNamara said that because of the extent of the book of evidence and the number of charges he would require an adjournment, of a number of weeks.

Mr Daragh Daly, State soliclitor, said that on the next court date additional evidence would also be served. Judge Sean Delap remanded the defendant con continuing bail until October 24th.
