A man (40) has died in hospital today following a serious assault in Co Wexford over the weekend.
The man was involved in an altercation outside the Mezz nightclub in Gorey in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He sustained serious head injuries in the incident and was initially taken to Wexford General Hospital but was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he died earlier today.
A postmortem will be held tomorrow.
Three men appeared in Wexford District Court today charged in connection with the assault.
Artus Janovskis (23), Mantis Kriksciunas (18) and Roman Muhins (19), all originally from Lithunia but with addresses in Gorey, were remanded in custody until November 19th to appear at Cloverhill courthouse.
