A father appeared in court yesterday charged with the murder of his five-year-old daughter. Mr James Joseph Byrne (43), Cromcastle Drive, Coolock, Dublin, is accused of murdering his daughter, Nicole Byrne, at the family home on Thursday.
Insp John Dennedy told Dublin District Court he arrested the accused at Santry Garda station at 12.50 p.m. yesterday.
Judge Miriam Malone granted free legal aid and remanded Mr Byrne in custody to July 14th.
