A man has been charged in connection with the seizure of 500,000 ecstasy tablets with an estimated street value of €7 million.
Mr Colm Carroll, 31, who is unemployed and of no fixed address, but originally from Glanmire, Co Cork, faced three charges, including possession of the drugs for sale or supply, at a special sitting of Cork District Court.
He was remanded in custody until next Wednesday.
The drugs were seized during a garda operation near Mountrath, Co Laois,
yesterday.
