A 24-year-old Limerick man, Mr John Waters, St Colmcille Street, St Mary's Park, was charged with the unlawful killing of Mr Anthony O'Donoghue (25), a father of four, on March 5th.

Det Sgt Declan Mulcahy told Limerick District Court yesterday that Mr O'Donoghue was taken to the Mid-West Regional Hospital on February 19th before being transferred to University Hospital, Cork, where he died on March 5th.

Det Sgt O'Donoghue said that when presented with the charges on Wednesday the accused said: "I did not kill no one." Bail was refused and he was remanded in custody until March 22nd.
