A 38-year-old man appeared in court today charged connection with the death of a man after a fire at a derelict house in Dublin yesterday.

Dublin Fire Brigade was alerted to the fire at Redcourt House, Seafield Road East, in Clontarf, Dublin 3, shortly after 2.30am yesterday.

After the fire a man's body was found inside the period house.

Alan Walsh, of 43 Eden More Park in Coolock pre sented himself to gardai yesterday and was charged with criminal damage by arson at Dublin District Court at lunchtime.

The court heard that Mr Walsh and two other men were involved in an altercation at the house on and that Mr Walsh had set the house on fire.

An application for bail was refused becuase more serious charges could follow. Mr Walsh was remanded until August 17th to appear at Cloverhill Distrcit Court.
