A man has been arrested after another was shot in the face in Co Sligo.
The incident happened at a house in Connolly Park, Tubbercurry, at about 8pm last night. The victim, in his 30s, was taken by ambulance to Sligo General Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
It is understood the shooting happened after an earlier argument between the men.
A Garda spokesman said a man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is detained at Ballymoate Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.

The scene has been preserved pending a technical examination.
