A 21-year-old man was shot and seriously injured in Limerick city last night during an incident which is believed to have taken place at a house in the Crossagalla area of the city at around 7 p.m.
The man, who suffered injuries to his left side and arm, was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital, Dooradoyle, where he was described as being in a "serious" condition.
He was later transferred to Cork Regional Hospital.
A man was arrested under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act in relation to the shooting last night.
