Maginnis resigns from police body

The Ulster Unionist MP, Mr Ken Maginnis, has resigned as parliamentary adviser to the Police Federation.

The Ulster Unionist MP, Mr Ken Maginnis, has resigned as parliamentary adviser to the Police Federation.

It was reported that the UUP security spokesman verbally offered his resignation on Tuesday, after divisions emerged between Mr Maginnis and the federation on a number of policy areas, including its position on accepting proposals in an RUC review of the full-time reserve, which were later incorporated into the Patten Report on Policing.
