THE Licensed Vintners' Association, denying reports that Dublin city publicans are increasing the price of a pint in the run-up to Christmas, says its members may take legal action if their names are linked to alleged attempts at a pre-Christmas "cashin". According to Mr Frank Fell, LVA chief executive, the fact that there are over 700 pubs in Dublin means that at any time one or more pubs may be putting up their prices "to compensate for investment". But he said there was absolutely no suggestion of members acting in concert to cash in on the pre-Christmas spending spree.
