An environment friendly gloss paint developed by Fleetwood Paints at its factory in Virginia, Co Cavan, has become the first Irish product to be awarded the EU approved ECO label by the National Standards Authority of Ireland. The project was aided by a Forbairt grant.
Mr Conor Doyle, the company's managing director, said the new low odour paint was more expensive than the rest of its range, but its very high opacity meant that only one coat was needed. It will be available this summer.
