London - Lottery companies are considering getting together to launch a Europe-wide game which could have jackpots as high as £70 million, it emerged yesterday. Companies including the British National Lottery organiser Camelot have already discussed the plan, which could be launched after the introduction of a single European currency next year.
The game would be overseen by the European Association of State Lotteries and could be held either weekly or monthly. The draws would be held in different countries and the game would run alongside existing national lotteries, either as a distinct game or with a special section on the established competitions' slips.
