An Independent candidate who lost her £300 deposit in the election said it was "worth every penny". Ms Marie Kinsella (40), stood in Dublin South West on an anti crime ticket. She was beaten and robbed by an attacker with a syringe when she visited her parents grave at Mount Jerome cemetery. "Four months later there has been no follow up from the gardai," she said and this decided her to contest the election.
Ms Kinsella is having the second set of HIV/hepatitis C tests next month. The first set of tests proved negative.
