Is it a chipper? the bleary-eyed young man wants to know. After all the hard work, Michael O'Reilly, former lawyer and owner of Dublin's newest art space, the lemonstreet Gallery, is a bit disappointed.
The elegant new gallery, right beside Paddy Power Bookmakers and Alias Tom, is on a little-known street off Grafton Street. It features limited editions of original print and graphic art by national and international artists "at affordable prices", he says.
The gallery was opened by writer and poet Anthony Cronin at a bash this week - where sushi is washed down with wine, without a chip in sight.
Carmel Naughton, chairwoman of the National Gallery of Ireland, is at the opening. Also, Anne Connolly, once associated with the Well Woman Centre, but now a management consultant who "encourages people to think strategically about their future" is there.
Members of the Mahoney architect design team are also in evidence - Claudio Calabritto from Naples and Saibh Rigney from Dublin. Vadim Kelly, youngest son of the writer James Plunkett, with artist Gail Johnstone, are crushed in at the very back.
