Leeds United have tonight agreed a fee to sign Liverpool's England striker Robbie Fowler.

"A fee has been agreed between the two clubs," said Liverpool spokesman Ian Cotton.

"Leeds have been given permission to speak to the player. The deal has not been done, though. It's now up to Robbie to discuss personal terms."

The fee for the 26-year-old, whose future has been the subject of constant speculation over the past few months, is believed to be about £11 million sterling.

Fowler has been plagued by fitness and disciplinary problems in recent years, with England team mates Michael Owen and Emile Heskey moving ahead of him in the Anfield pecking order.

Liverpool assistant manager Phil Thompson said earlier today the club wanted to keep Fowler and that talks about his future were ongoing, but he will travel to Leeds tomorrow to discuss a move to Elland Road.
