THE time is approaching when someone will be publicly murdered in Dublin as a result of the tolerance of drunkenness and the granting of late drinking licences, Mr David Norris (Ind) said. Pressing for a debate on the operation of the public house trade, in the Dublin area particularly, he said there was a growing tendency to automatically grant late licences.

The House leader, Mr Maurice Manning, said he would welcome a debate on the organisation of the licensing trade.
