KLM Royal Dutch Airlines said it will restructure to focus on developing low-cost brands Buzz and BASIQ AIR and integrating its global hub and feeder operations.
In a statement, KLM said the management of its low-cost products, their operation and positioning will be allocated to a single manager from April 1st, 2002.
The airline did not say whether it will be buying or selling any aircraft to implement the changes, but KLM spokesman Mr Bart Koster said the project will not have any immediate impact on investment or jobs.
KLM's global network and feeder operations will also be strengthened by bringing KLM uk and KLM cityhopper together with an integrated management team.
The KLM board will keep overall supervision to ensure the various product/market combinations in the KLM Group are properly co-ordinated, it said.
