THE Variety Club's charity premiere of the new musical Kissin' Tell in St Andrew's Lane Theatre on Tuesday night was a very upbeat affair. Paddy and Maura McKillen were there - Paddy looking suitably pleased with the almost instant success of his Jervis Shopping Centre. The super actor's agent Teri Hayden dropped by before leaving for Los Angeles to work on a deal for one of her high flying clients, Gabriel Byrne.
Gerry and Morah Ryan enjoyed the show but skipped the after show party in Renards and headed to the Burlington for US Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith's huge US election watch party.
Helen Stephenson was there because her partner Dermot Cafferky is very involved in Variety Club fundraising - she admitted that getting such a good price for her Dalkey home was wonderful (a lotto like £1.95 million) but said that what makes her happier is that "someone who truly loves the house bought it".
