Tehran - Iranian President Mohammad Khatami defended his moderate Culture Minister against impeachment proceedings by hardline MPs, newspapers reported yesterday.
In the latest assault on President Khatami's reforms, 31 deputies presented a petition to the 270-seat parliament on Wednesday, summoning the Minister of Culture, Mr Ataollah Mohajerani, to be questioned on Iran's recent cultural thaw.
