Republic of Ireland captain Roy Keane is fit to play for Manchester United in tomorrow's Champions League match against Bayern Munich.

Keane suffered no reaction after playing the 90 minutes of United's 2-0 win over Leicester on Saturday.

There had been some concern that Keane, who has just returned to the United team after a four-week lay-off with a knee injury, would not be able to play two games in three days.

He was forced to miss the second leg of the Republic of Ireland's World Cup play-off against Iran last week after complaining of stiffness in his knee following the home leg in Dublin on November 10th.

But United manager Alex Ferguson checked on Keane during training yesterday and claimed there is no problem with his knee.

Keane said after Saturday that he hopes the injury is now behind him and Ferguson is confident he will not need surgery, as had been feared.

United have no injury concerns ahead of the opening second phase game in the Olympic Stadium, and Juan Sebastian Veron will return after being rested on Saturday.

Veron's return means that Dwight Yorke is likely to be relegated to the bench despite scoring his first goal since April 14th against Leicester.
