The jury in the trial of a man accused of having cannabis valued at £120,000 has failed to reach a verdict at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Judge Frank O'Donnell sent the jury to a hotel overnight after it had been deliberating for almost 2 1/2 hours on the fifth day of the trial.

The jury of eight men and four women will resume its deliberations today.

Mr John Kelly (42), Belfry, Inchicore, is pleading not guilty to possessing the cannabis resin for sale and supply on May 12th, 1997, at Liffey Valley Park.
