Businessman JP McManus is giving Limerick communities 50,000 reasons to clean up their areas.
He is putting up a prize fund of €50,000 for 12 communities in the city taking part in Tidy Towns for the first time this year. The €50k Limerick Community Challenge will see a top prize of €15,000 awarded for the most improved area. Additional prizes worth €35,000 will be divided among the participants.
The 12 communities are College Gate, Ballygrennan, Distillery View, Westfields, Springgrove, Watergate, Janesboro, Kings Island, Castletroy View, Woodlawn Park, Caherdavin and Moyross.
