A 25-year-old man who was the only person charged arising out of investigations into the death of model Katy French in December 2007 yesterday received a suspended jail sentence for conspiring to supply cocaine.

Trim Circuit Court heard that Russell Memery originally from Finglas but now living in Navan had pleaded guilty to conspiring with two other people, not before the court, to possess cocaine for sale or supply.

Passing sentence, Judge Michael O’Shea said another person had initiated what happened and “he was the contact person who made contact to get the drugs. I accept there was no gain, he got no profit”.
