A married man who had consensual sex with his 14-year-old babysitter on New Year's Eve has been jailed for 30 months by Judge Elizabeth Dunne at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
The 28-year-old father of two pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful carnal knowledge on January 1st last year. He cannot be named for legal reasons.
Det Garda George Butler agreed that the girl had a crush on the defendant. The man returned home without his wife at 2.20 a.m and they had sex while alone but were disturbed by a knock at the window.
When he opened the door the girl's father saw her stuff her panties in her pocket. A row ensued. The man came across the road with a knife and the girl took it off him. She was taken to Clondalkin Garda station at 3 a.m by her father.
