Nicosia - Israel denied yesterday a British press report that its Mossad intelligence service told Britain a spurned Russian gangster ordered the killing of TV presenter Jill Dando.
The Israeli embassy in Nicosia said the report in the Sunday People was baseless. The tabloid said the Mossad told British detectives that Dando, one of Britain's most popular television personalities, had spurned the advances of a Russian mafia boss while filming an episode of her Holiday programme in Cyprus.
