The High Court has granted an interim order restraining former employees of the Irish Glass Bottle Company Ltd from trespassing at its manufacturing premises in Ringsend, Dublin.

The court heard gardaí were called several times yesterday when a "volatile" situation erupted after the company tried to unblock entrances to the premises.

Mr Justice Kelly granted the order restraining trespass at the company's premises at South Bank Road, Ringsend, and at warehouse facilities at Parkwest Industrial Estate and Merchants Yard, East Wall Road, Dublin.

The injunction, which continues to tomorrow, is against five former employees of the company - David Burke, Oliver Byrne, Larry Johnson, David McKeever and Peter Galvin - and against all other persons with notice of the making of the order.
