Two young men die in Kerry road crash

Bodies only discovered at midday by passing motorist as car was concealed

Two men in their 20s have been killed in a single vehicle car crash in Co Kerry which gardaí believe happened over night on the N22 outside Killarney.

The two men were discovered in their car on the Macroom side side of Glenflesk village on the main Cork-Killarney Road by a farmer at around 12.15pm today.

Gardaí believe the men were travelling west towards Killarney when their Toyota Avensis left the road and veered into a field where it collided with a tree.

The incident was only discovered at midday today by a passing motorist as the car was concealed.

The emergency services were alerted and a GP pronounced the two men dead at the scene before their bodies were removed to Kerry General Hospital in Tralee for a post-mortem.

The road was closed for a number of hours and diversions were put in place to allow a forensic crash investigator examine the scene.
