Ireland has fallen two places to 23rd in a table of the most networked economies from the World Economic Forum (WEF).

Ireland has fallen two places to 23rd in a table of the most networked economies from the World Economic Forum (WEF).

European states dominated the list with 11 of the top 20 rankings, including all of the top three of Denmark, Sweden and Switzerland. The Britain came in at number 12.

The annual WEF study measures the extent to which countries are prepared to use information and communication technology (ICT) and the quality of its infrastructure.

Among the big movers are South Korea, which rose 10 places to ninth and the US, which rose three places to fourth.

The Report is produced by the WEF in cooperation with the business school INSEAD and is sponsored by Cisco Systems.
