Some of the world's top dancers will be showcasing their skills across Dublin over the next week as International Dance Festival Ireland takes place.
The third festival gets under way today and aims to build on previous successes by presenting inspiring international and Irish work.
Dancers from countries as diverse as Thailand and French Guiana will play their part in a programme that features an array of Irish talent and events that aims to appeal to novice and seasoned dance audiences.

- Chinese-born New York resident Shen Wei and his dance company with shows blending the two traditions
- French company Montalvo-Hervieu's mix of video projections and uplifting dance
- Les Ballets C de la B's, the new collaboration between Belgium's Alain Platel and Fabrizio Cassol.
This year the festival has also commissioned two works - a collaboration between Ireland's Seosamh O Neachtain and Tamango from USA/French Guiana, and American John Jasperse's European premiere of Prone.
