An inquest will be held today on a Cork woman whose body was washed up on the shoreline near Aberystwyth, Wales, last Wednesday.

A police spokesman said that an "opening inquest" would be held in the town today and pending the coroner's verdict the body of Ms Esther Spillane, from the Mitchelstown area of Co Cork, could be flown home. It is understood she went for an early morning swim or a walk on the beach with her Welsh boyfriend, Mr Christopher Lewis (27), and the couple got into trouble. Mr Lewis's body was recovered earlier.
