The family of a man found unconscious in a cell at a Dublin Garda station will hear details of how he died today.

Terence Wheelock (20), from Summerhill in Dublin, was found unconscious in a cell in Store Street Garda Station in June last year after apparently attempting to hang himself with a cord from his tracksuit bottoms.

He was taken to the Mater Hospital, but he never regained consciousness and died several months later on September 16th, 2005.

His parents, Esther and Larry Wheelock, have raised questions over his death.

The family had been seeking financial assistance from the State to aid them with the costs of an independent forensic examination of his clothes.

However, it was confirmed at an earlier hearing of the inquest that the State would not financially assist the family.
