Aine Shells, the nine year old Dublin girl who was knocked down in Ballyfermot by a stolen car driven by a 13 year old boy, was described as stable yesterday.

She had been playing on roller skates outside her house at Raheen Park on Wednesday afternoon when she was struck by the car. She suffered serious leg injuries.

A spokeswoman for Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin, where she underwent surgery following the incident, said there was no change in the girl's condition and that she remained stable.

Gardai in Ballyfermot confirmed that a file was expected to be sent to the DPP.
