THE Irish Times asked Apex Travel, an independent travel agent on Dame St, Dublin, to price comparable holidays offered by Budget Travel, Falcon, and Thomson Holidays. The prices are for two adults and two children, ex Dublin on July 6th, for two weeks
For the Parasol Apartments, Santa Ponsa, Majorca, Budget was charging £1,023 while Thomson Holidays was charging £1,042. Falcon was charging £1,436 for the slightly better Holiday Centre apartments at the same location.
For holidays in the Algarve, Thomson Holidays was charging £1,290 for the Santa Monte apartments, in Praia da Rocha, while Budget was charging £1,269 for same standard apartments with Club Praia da Rocha, also in Praia da Rocha. Falcon was offering apartments of similar standard at Torre da Rocha, in the Algarve, for £1,366.
